Built between 1965 and 1975? The connections are the risk, not the wire. We make every one of them safe — without tearing out the walls.
Homes built from about 1965 to 1975 often have solid aluminum branch wiring, and the Consumer Product Safety Commission found them many times more likely to reach fire-hazard conditions at the connections than copper-wired homes. The repair is not a rewire: a licensed electrician pigtails a short copper lead onto every aluminum connection with a connector rated for it (AlumiConn or COPALUM) and fits CO/ALR-rated devices where pigtailing does not fit. A typical three-bedroom home takes one to two days, is permitted and inspected, and produces the paperwork insurers ask for.

What your carrier asks for
If you want the permanent option
Kent, Renton, Federal Way, Des Moines, Burien and much of Tacoma have whole neighborhoods from these years. Earlier and later homes are usually copper.
Look at the cable jacket where it enters the panel or at an attic junction box. Silver-colored conductor ends confirm it.
Aluminum expands and contracts more than copper and loosens under the screw. The warm plate is the loosened connection.
Connections that work when cool and open when warm. Classic aluminum behavior.
A connection has already arced. Breaker off, call now.
Common at sale and at policy renewal. Most carriers accept AlumiConn or COPALUM repair with the permit record.
The connection count sets the price; we count every box on the first visit and quote the whole house before starting.
| Pigtailing, per connection | $45–$90 |
| Typical three-bedroom home, every connection | $1,500–$4,500 |
| CO/ALR outlet or switch, per device | $75–$150 |
| Panel terminations and antioxidant | Included |
| Permit and L&I inspection | Included |
| Full copper rewire, for comparison | Several times the repair price — quoted on request |
Typical ranges for Western Washington — not a quote. Your exact price comes upfront, before any work starts, and you approve it first.
Same three steps, every job.
Pick the job online or call (206) 486-6373. A technician reaches out within 1 business hour to confirm a window.
We find the fault, explain it, and give you the exact price. Nothing starts until you approve it.
Repaired, tested under load, permit pulled where required, area cleaned. Most jobs done in one visit.
A dead outlet gets the same licensed electrician and the same code as a panel upgrade. Bad connections are how house fires start.
Washington-licensed electricians. Permits pulled and inspections passed where the work needs one.

You approve the price before any work starts. If we find more, we stop and ask.
Every technician is background-checked before stepping into your home. Shoe covers, drop cloths, clean exit.
Anything off, we make it right. We answer 24/7 and real emergencies go first.
The wire itself carries current fine. The danger is at every connection: aluminum creeps under screw pressure, oxidizes, and the loose oxidized joint heats up. Repair the connections and the hazard is addressed; that is why pigtailing is the accepted fix.
Pigtailing with AlumiConn or COPALUM connectors is recognized by the Consumer Product Safety Commission as a permanent repair, costs a fraction of a rewire, and does not open walls. A full rewire is the only way to remove the aluminum entirely; we quote both when asked.
Most carriers accept a documented AlumiConn or COPALUM repair with the permit and inspection record; a few specify COPALUM only. Tell us which carrier and we check before we quote.
Yes. Aluminum remediation is permitted electrical work in Washington and is inspected by L&I. The inspection record is also what your insurer wants to see.
One day for a smaller home, two for a larger one with many boxes. Power is off room by room, not to the whole house at once.
Book an assessment. We count the boxes and quote the whole house.
