The roofline lit without you on a ladder, and lights that come on by themselves at dusk. We hang seasonal Christmas lights, install permanent LED lighting under the eaves, and add the outdoor power both need.

Next Phase Electric installs Christmas lights and permanent holiday lighting around Covington, Kent and nearby. Seasonal lights are clipped along the roofline, gutters and trees, plugged into GFCI-protected outdoor outlets and put on a timer, then taken down after the season if you book that too. Permanent lighting is a slim LED track mounted under the eaves that stays up all year and runs from a phone app: warm white every evening, colors for any holiday. Because we are electricians, we also add the outlet or circuit the lights need, so they do not trip a breaker or hang a cord down the wall. Most seasonal installs take a few hours; permanent lighting is usually a day.
From one roofline to lights that stay up all year.
Strands clipped along the roof edge, gutters and peaks, evenly spaced, with the cords run where nobody sees them.
LED lights in a track under the eaves, in a color that matches the trim. Warm white every night, colors for every holiday, all from an app.
Wrapped trunks, lit shrubs and pathway lights, plugged in where they will not be tripped over or left in a puddle.
GFCI outlets where the lights need them, a new circuit if they keep tripping, and timers or smart plugs so they run on their own.
Three things decide whether they look good and stay on all season.
Outdoor outlets need GFCI protection and a weatherproof cover that closes with the plug in. A wet connection is the usual reason lights trip off on a rainy night.
LED strands draw little, but long runs, inflatables and older strands add up. If one outlet keeps tripping, a second circuit is the fix, not fewer lights.
A timer, a smart plug or the permanent lighting app turns everything on at dusk and off at bedtime, so nobody goes out in the rain to unplug them.
Both light up the house. Only one comes down every January.
| Seasonal lights | Permanent lighting | |
|---|---|---|
| Installed | Every fall, and taken down after the holidays. | Once. It stays up all year. |
| Look | Classic strands and bulbs you can see. | A slim track under the eaves, hard to spot in daylight. |
| Control | A timer or a smart plug. | A phone app: schedules, white light, colors for every holiday. |
| Best for | The traditional look, or a first year of lights. | No more ladders, and the house lit all year. |
Use the lights you already own, or have us include new LED strands in the quote. Tell us the length of the roofline and how many stories when you book.
Licensed, bonded and insured. Background-checked crew.
Tell us seasonal or permanent, how many stories, and which parts of the house. A photo of the front of the house helps. A technician reaches out within 1 business hour.
Roofline length, ladder access, where the outlets are and whether the circuit can carry it. Exact price before any work.
Lights up, cords hidden, timer or app set, and everything lit and checked with you.
Three things set the price: how many feet of roofline, how high the house is, and whether you supply the lights. Permanent lighting is priced by the length of track. You get the exact price before any work starts.
Early. Book in October or early November to have the lights up before Thanksgiving weekend. Permanent lighting can go up any time of year.
Yes. Book the take-down with the install, and we come back after the season to take them down.

Not much. The track is low-profile and sits under the edge of the roof, often in a color that matches the trim. From the street it mostly disappears until the lights come on.
Usually water in a plug or connector tripping the GFCI, or too many strands on one circuit. Dry, covered connections and a dedicated outdoor circuit fix it, and that is electrical work we do.
The lights plug into a power supply, which needs an outlet close by. We add a GFCI outlet in the soffit, attic or garage, so there is no cord down the wall, and a new circuit if the existing one is full.
