One failed breaker, replaced with the right one for your panel. A small job — and we will tell you plainly if it is the breaker or the panel.
A breaker that trips with nothing running, will not reset, feels hot, buzzes, or shows scorch marks has usually failed and should be replaced with a breaker listed for your panel. A licensed electrician does this in about an hour, including testing the circuit for the short or overload that may have caused it. Replacing one breaker is a small repair; it is not the same as a panel upgrade, and the only panels where a breaker swap is not the answer are Federal Pacific and Zinsco, which should be replaced entirely.

Short, overload, or wear
A breaker that trips on a lightly loaded circuit has worn internally. Replace it.
Push it fully off, then on. If it trips instantly there is a short on the circuit; if it will not latch at all, the breaker has failed. We check both.
A loose connection at the breaker or a bus bar that has lost its tension. Urgent — this is how panels burn.
Could be a weak breaker or a circuit that is undersized for the appliance. We size the fix instead of just fitting a bigger breaker.
Breakers in these panels fail to trip under fault. We do not fit replacement breakers to them; the panel itself is the repair.
If the problem is that you need more circuits, the answer is a subpanel or a panel upgrade — a different job, quoted separately.
Breakers for discontinued panels cost more than current ones; we tell you which you have before quoting.

Repaired, tested under load, permit pulled where required, area cleaned. Most jobs done in one visit.
A dead outlet gets the same licensed electrician and the same code as a panel upgrade. Bad connections are how house fires start.

Anything off, we make it right. We answer 24/7 and real emergencies go first.
No. The breaker protects the wire, not the appliance. A 20 A breaker on wire rated for 15 A lets the wire overheat inside the wall. If a circuit cannot carry what you plug into it, the fix is a dedicated circuit.
Breakers are listed for specific panels; a breaker that physically fits but is not listed for the panel may not make proper contact with the bus bar. We fit the breaker the panel manufacturer lists, or a classified replacement where one exists.
A breaker that is hot, buzzing, smells, or shows scorch marks is. Turn the main breaker off if you can do so safely and call. A breaker that tripped once and reset is a check, not an emergency.
Not for a like-for-like replacement. Adding a circuit, changing the breaker type for a new load, or replacing the panel does need an L&I permit, and we handle it.
We can, but we will not recommend it. Federal Pacific Stab-Lok and Zinsco breakers have a documented history of failing to trip under fault, and replacement breakers inherit the same bus design. Replacing the panel is the honest repair, and we will quote both so you can decide.
Book online or call. We carry breakers for the common panels on the van.
