Clock on, oven cold, burners weak. One leg of 240 V is missing — outlet, cord or breaker.
Three causes cover almost every call we get for this.
One pole of the 50 A double breaker. Push fully OFF, then ON.
Range outlets carry heavy current for years; a loose terminal scorches and drops a leg.
A weakened double-pole breaker. Replaced with one listed for the panel.
Takes a minute, costs nothing, fixes it more often than you would think.
Push the range breaker firmly OFF, then ON. If the oven still will not heat, stop there.
Still happening? That's our job.
We test both legs at the outlet, replace a burnt receptacle and cord terminal, or the breaker, and confirm the circuit size.

Right parts, tested under load, next connection checked so it does not come back.
An electric range or oven where the clock and lights work but the oven will not heat, or the burners only get warm, has lost one of its two 240-volt legs: half of the double-pole breaker has tripped, the 50-amp range outlet or the cord terminal has burnt, or the breaker has failed. The controls run on 120 volts, which is why they still work. Reset the breaker fully once; after that, the outlet needs to be inspected with the power off.
Yes — a failed bake element or control board. We test the outlet first; if 240 V is steady, it is the appliance.
