Two work, two do not, breaker fine. The chain broke at one box — we find which.
Three causes cover almost every call we get for this.
Each outlet passes power to the next. A loose or burnt connection at one cuts everything after it.
A GFCI protects everything after it, sometimes in another room. Press its RESET.
An outlet replaced with a wire left off, or a box abandoned inside a wall during a remodel.
Takes a minute, costs nothing, fixes it more often than you would think.
Press RESET on every GFCI in the house.
Note which outlets work and which do not — tell us when you book; it tells us where the break is before we arrive.
Still happening? That's our job.
A connection loose enough to drop half a room has usually been arcing.
Online or by phone. A technician reaches out within 1 business hour.
Traced to the box or device it lives in. Exact price before any work, you approve it first.
Right parts, tested under load, next connection checked so it does not come back.
When some outlets in a room work and others are dead, the room's circuit is wired as a chain and the chain has broken at one point: everything before the break works, everything after it is dead. The break is a loose or burnt connection at one outlet, a failed outlet, or a GFCI that tripped. Press reset on your GFCIs; if that is not it, the break is behind a cover plate on a live circuit and an electrician finds it box by box.
Usually in about an hour, same day or next day. A technician reaches out within 1 business hour.
Exact price before any work starts, after we find the break. You approve it first.
If a cover plate is warm, discolored or smells, turn the breaker off and call now. Otherwise it is a book-it-this-week repair.
If they are 20-plus years old and backstabbed, replacing the chain in one visit is the sensible fix. We will tell you honestly.
