Everything else works. One room is dead. Two resets to try, then it is a failed connection we find in about an hour.
Three causes cover almost every call we get for this.
Tripped breakers rest mid-way. Push fully OFF, then ON.
The room's circuit may start at a GFCI in a bathroom, the garage or outside.
A loose backstab or burnt wire at the first outlet on the circuit. Everything after it is dead; nothing trips.
Takes a minute, costs nothing, fixes it more often than you would think.
At the panel, push every breaker firmly OFF then ON — labels are often wrong.
Press RESET on every GFCI in the house.
Still happening? That's our job.
An open connection stops current instead of overloading it, so nothing trips and it sits there arcing.

Right parts, tested under load, next connection checked so it does not come back.
When one room loses power and the rest of the house is fine, that room's circuit has been interrupted at one of three places: the breaker (tripped but sitting in a position that looks on), a GFCI outlet upstream that has tripped, or a connection that has failed at the first outlet, switch or junction box on the circuit. Reset the breaker and the GFCIs; if both are fine, the failed connection is behind a cover plate and an electrician finds it in about an hour. A whole floor or half the house out is a different fault — a lost leg — and needs a same-day call.
Most one-room outages are found and fixed in about an hour.
Exact price after we find the fault, before any work starts.
No — that is a lost leg: one of the two feeds into the panel has dropped. Unplug electronics and call now.
Usually within a day. Half the house out: same day, call (206) 486-6373.
